Allons, TN: Country Front Lawn Elopement - Keith and Lisa

Lisa had hoped to get married on a beautiful sunny day at a church. Unfortunately, the remnants of a hurricane and the Covid virus had other ideas. However, Lisa didn’t let them deter her wedding plans despite having to change the venue. She and Keith decided to forgo the large wedding and “elope” in his front yard under an arch with a view of rolling hills behind them. After all, the location seemed fitting since Keith had also proposed to her there earlier in the year.

While the location may have been simple, Lisa’s attention to detail was not. Flowers graced table tops throughout the house and columns outside the house near the arch. Fine linens, china and crystal graced the reception dinner tables, and the aroma of a delicious dinner wafted through the air.

Rain came and went all day as the wedding day preparations progressed. A handful of special friends and family waited on the front porch for the rain to let up. When a glance at the weather radar showed that the drizzle was only going to get worse, everyone donned umbrellas and took towels to wipe off the rows of awaiting chairs. While rain gently fell, Lisa floated across the yard to her beloved waiting for her underneath the arch. As rain continued to come down, they professed their love and commitment to each other. As Keith kissed his new bride and the preacher pronounced them man and wife, the rain stopped as if in celebration of the new union.

Keith and Lisa, I know you had a different vision for how your special day would go, but I think it turned out perfect. The longer I do this, the more I think small and intimate is the way to go. I loved how sweet your ceremony was, and your attention to detail was just lovely. Y’all were such good sports despite the weather. You both have a lovely home and I wish you both the best!
