Rickman, TN: Bilbrey's Crossing - John and Haley
A few years ago, some friends of Haley introduced her to John. Last year they started hanging out each week with friends at bonfires. There over the crackle of the weekly bonfire a friendship quickly formed into a relationship. Soon it was apparent to their family and friends that John had become more than just a friend to Haley. Not too long after, while going down the interstate, John informally asked Haley if she would be willing to get married. She said yes. A little while later John made it official with a ring and a down-on-one knee proposal after a romantic dinner while strolling through a local park.
The couple chose their wedding date to share Haley’s beloved grandmother’s (also her matron of honor) 80th birthday. Their wedding day may have been super sunny and hot on the outside, but inside the barn-like event center at Bilbrey Crossing in Rickman, TN things were nice and cool as happy voices punctuated the background. Bilbrey’s Crossing made a great backdrop for the couple’s “Middle Earth” themed wedding with its hanging chandeliers, sconces, stained glass, and candles lit on the massive stone fireplace draped with a red cloth. Evidence of the book trilogy “Lord of the Rings” graced table tops, party favors, the flag banners hanging from above, and maps around. Even the couple's wedding rings were inscribed with the saying from the ring in the books.
A flat tire, getting behind schedule, a left-at-home engagement ring, and missing groomsman all made the day start off stressful for Haley. However, as soon as she saw John for the first time while walking toward him under the dancing leaves of a tree outside, all the stress melted away and she had trouble not holding back happy tears. Her tears were soon joined by others when she walked down the aisle to her beloved John midst a whole building full of their loved ones. During the reception the atmosphere was joyful as everyone had fun dancing and meaningful toasts were given to the happy couple amidst laughter and tears. It was apparent how loved the couple was and how special each of their friends thought they are.
John and Haley, it was a joy to meet each of you. I loved watching your apparent love for each other and how you put each other first. Your wedding was so much fun! I loved how you each took some setbacks that other couples would have had trouble not letting ruin their day in stride and still fully embraced and enjoyed your special day. You both seem to complement each other well. Thank you for being so kind to me! I wish you both a lifetime of joy.
