Albany, Kentucky: Barnyard Wedding - Matt and Amy
Fourteen years ago, Amy popped online onto a fan page of a favorite band. While on there she struck up a conversation with a guy named Matt. After talking for awhile they realized that not only did they like the same band, but they lived in the same town, went to the same school, and their parents even knew the same people. So they decided to hook up, instantly hit it off, and have been a couple every since.
This past valentine’s day Matt decided it was time to propose. So he gathered up their two dogs and put a collar saying “Will You” on one, and “Marry Me” on the other one. The easy part for Amy was saying yes, the hard part was planning a wedding. Matt and Amy had a lot of hurdles due to the corona virus shutting down everything just a few weeks after becoming engaged. Despite Amy having to do her own hair and nails and only being allowed to invite a few people, the couple decided to go ahead with the ceremony despite the circumstances.
The day of their ceremony dawned bright and sunny with clouds dotting the background in the distance. Dreamy sunshine filtered through the slats in the barn that made dust appear to be dancing from a light breeze. Haybales draped with old quilts were arranged to create an aisle way down the center of the rustic, old barn. A barrel with a top people could sign greeted guests at the beginning of the aisle. There, surrounded by just a handful of their closest family and a couple of friends, Matt and Amy officially pledged their lives to each other, sealed love notes in a box to be opened on their first anniversary, and were announced man and wife while bubbles floated all around them in joyful celebration.
Matt and Amy, I think that the small wedding ended up being just perfect. I loved how you both got to focus more on each other and really enjoy your day and time with everyone. I hope you get to go on a really awesome honeymoon after everything settles down!
