Cookeville, TN: Backyard Star Wars Wedding - Stephen and Sarah

Sarah is the type of girl everyone wishes they had for a friend. Kind, thoughtful, and loyal. Friends agreed that when you combine that with Stephen’s dry wit, hardworking character, and loyalty – they both make each other better people.

They have a love story that starts off with meeting through an online dating service. The couple set up to meet at a certain restaurant. However, after arriving and sitting for a while, Sarah started to get worried that Stephen had stood her up. When she called him, he informed her that he was at the restaurant and asked where she was at. She told him, but they both couldn’t find each other. Thinking that they may be at different restaurants, Sarah looked out the window and told him that she saw an auto parts store. If just so happened that Stephen saw the same type of auto parts store…but at a different location. This led to each of them giving the other a hard time about making up where they were at…and breaking the ice. When they finally got to the same restaurant, their love for Star Wars made them instantly hit it off.

Close to a year after Stephen surprised Sarah by proposing on her birthday, the couple chose to say their sweet, handwritten vows in the bride’s parent’s back yard. There, under the dancing limbs of the trees hung with lanterns and with the sound of the Star Wars theme song playing in the background, Sarah came down the aisle. The officiant quoted lines from famous movies and gave the happy couple a hard time during the ceremony. Including handing them their rings by saying, “There is a famous saying about the special-ness of rings. ‘One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them all, One ring to bind them.’”; causing all of Sarah and Stephen’s closest friends and family to chuckle at the quote from the Lord of the Rings.

Their love for Star Wars carried through to their Labor Day weekend wedding with small, fun touches to help lighten the mood. From walking down the aisle to Star Wars music; to each table at the reception representing a different planet in the Star Wars movies; to the bridesmaid’s carrying bouquets with light sabers; to lastly, the cake topper having a famous quote by Princess Leah and Hans Solo. Each of the touches were tasteful, yet fun.

Stephen and Sarah, I have been looking forward to your wedding so much these past two months. Despite the heat, you both were such great sports. Your wedding was one of the neatest I’ve been to and so much fun! Stephen, it’s clear you are devoted to Sarah and that she feels the same way. It was an honor to get to be a part of your intimate wedding. I hope you have a whole lifetime of wonderful memories together.

Sarah was positively glowing ...and that dress!!!

There were so many good shots from the day I've really had trouble picking favorites, but the others on this bench are really up there...

"One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them all, One ring to bind them."

That moment when he is finally official yours.

Being a great flower girl, the bride's niece even picked up the flower petals after the wedding.

Check out all the amazing Star War's themed decor! Each table at the reception represented a different planet off of Star Wars.

No better way to end this post than the bride getting the best smile of the day after singing to the groom at the end of their dance.
