Scantland Proposal

While growing up, Noah and Izzy spent every summer together at Cedar Lake Camp in Livingston, TN. Noah had liked Izzy forever. In fact, he would go to the pine tree forest at the back of the camp where there were no lights, and lay down in the grass and look up at the startling bright stars through the overhanging limbs. There he would pour out his heart to God and pray for Izzy and ask for guidance on what God was doing in that relationship.
However, it wasn't until November of 2016 that Izzy first started liking Noah back. Early the next year Noah left on a missions trip to Florida for 4 months. During that time they didn't talk at all. When he got back though, love blossomed and they were soon talking marriage.
Right about the time they started talking marriage their pastor asked them if they would be willing to hold off their wedding plans for 6 months and serve in different mission fields that needed help.
Putting aside their own personal desires, Noah and Izzy both said yes. Izzy went to Cambodia and Noah to Uganda.
Three weeks ago Izzy and Noah returned to the states. Izzy knew he would propose sometime this spring since they planned to marry in the fall. However, she had no clue when or where Noah would pop the question.
Noah had had the ring for forever, but had sent it to his Mom so it would stay a secret and no one would find the ring and ruin the surprise. One Wednesday afternoon after her return as the sun was setting, Noah asked Izzy to go for a evening stroll at the camp. He took her to the place they planned to get married, where he had roses waiting as part of the surprise.
While they walked up he started telling her about all those star filled nights when he had prayed about this moment. He then stopped her at the roses. Surprised, she bent down to pick them up. When she stood back up and turned back around she found Noah down on one knee, ring in hand.
"Really?!?" she exclaimed with an ecstatic grin on her face. She proceeded to give him a bear hug since they plan to wait to kiss until their wedding day. The hug then turned into a tender, sweet moment of prayer together. The perfect end to a magical proposal.

The waiting roses...

Talking about the star filled nights...

Discovering the roses...

The proposal...

The hug.

The prayer.

I don't believe I've ever seen such a big smile.

So excited!
