Standing Stone State Park: Fall Wedding- Caleb and Mallory

Mallory and Caleb had known each other what seemed like forever. They met in grade school and had gone to dances together and even dated for awhile but then drifted apart for a time. Years later they started talking and hanging out together again, and this time things were different.

Caleb asked Mallory to marry him all the time in jest. One day, however, while just driving down the road he asked Mallory again, but this time he was serious. She thought he was still kidding and had laughed and answered “Okay, sure!” However, after he came home from work the next day he looked at her and said, “We’re getting married. I'm serious.” Come to find out, he had asked her parents for her hand in marriage months ago.

Mallory and Caleb chose to have a first look before their wedding, but before they saw each other for the first time they each stood at the corner of the building and in an intimate moment with just themselves, read to each other beautiful vows that they both had written each other just for that moment. The night before Caleb had kidded Mallory that he had written his vows “A-E-I-O-U,” and he was telling the truth. Caleb's vows made her cry as he told her with every vowel what he loved about her.

It may have rained, and the temperature may have dropped drastically the morning their wedding day dawned, but the rain let up in time for Mallory to be able to have her dream outside wedding. Standing Stone State Park’s Tea Room had a stunning stone balcony for them to say their vows on with rolling hills colored gold, red, orange spread out behind them. Surrounded by friends and family all around, Mallory came down the stone staircase amidst sunflowers and mums draped on the arm of her teary-eyed father. There in a short, but sweet ceremony amidst laughter and the view of mountains, Mallory and Caleb committed their lives one to another.

Caleb and Mallory, it was a true honor to get to be such an important part of your special day. The vows you both wrote each other were so touching. Thank you both for being so easy going a great to work with, even though I know you both were freezing. It was evident how much your friends and family care for you both very much. I wish you both the best!

One of the sweetest first looks I've witnessed.
