Alpine, Tennesse: Grace Baptist Church - Adam and Diana

Anyone who has known Adam for a long time can tell you that while hard working, he loves to give people a hard time and have fun and that whoever married him needed to be able to take his dry wit in stride. Cue February 2, 2016, after a ROTC workout session together Adam made a point to introduce himself to Diana outside of the Tennessee Tech Stadium. They hit it off right away and talked for over an hour talking about an upcoming paper her had to write and other topics. While it was seven months later before they officially started dating, that one little discussion about her paper ended up being the spark that set their romance in motion. During the next few months, Adams fell in love with the way Diana’s eyes sparkled and the way she treated those around her and Diana grew to love Adam’s heart for the Lord.

Exactly one year later to the day, Adam asked Diana to meet him at the place where they first met, outside of Tech’s stadium. Diana’s original wardrobe choice for the day was shorts, but Adam asked her to dress up since they were going to work-out after meeting up, so she threw on a t-shirt and skirt. Diana knew something was up that evening, but thought Adam was going to propose later that night at Cheddars. However, she was in for a big surprise when she pulled up and saw Adam dressed in a suit waiting to meet her. Adam had it planned down to the smallest detail, including a friend hiding and taking pictures when he got down on one knee and presented her with a heart shaped diamond ring.

The day they chose to marry in July dawned gray and misty. Rain threatened all morning long, but neither Adam nor Diana were too worried since they had chosen to get married inside the church Adam grew up in. Despite the gray weather, happiness oozed everywhere and didn’t damper spirits. Laughter filled the hallways of the church with friends and family having a great time getting ready together. Simple but sweet decorations adorned the pews and altar as Adam caught his first glimpse of his bride walking down the aisle on the arm of her grandfather. Laughter again rang, this time throughout the auditorium, when Diana’s grandfather handed her to Adam, and his groomsmen welded lint rollers all over him and straightened his suit while all the bridesmaids fussed over Diana before the vows could begin. Cheers and laughter also ended their ceremony with the wedding party dancing their way back down the aisle.

Right after the ceremony, the clouds diminished and the sun decided to blaze overhead. However, people continued to have fun from the groomsmen showing off their socks for pictures, to gag gifts, to ROTC buddies having a push-up war with the wedding couple, to the bride and groom being overzealous in feeding each other cake, to even leaving the wedding with gusto.

Adam and Diana, I enjoyed getting to capture your wedding day so much! It meant a lot that you both trusted me to capture your special day. I don’t believe I’ve ever had so much fun or heard so much laughter at a wedding. It was sweet and so fitting for the both of you. You both appear to be a great match that promises to have a lot of fun in your married life. I hope that God blesses you with many years together.
