Backyard Fall Wedding: Allons, Tennessee - Jody and Mandy

Sometimes it takes a second try to find your soul mate. Neither Mandy or Jody were sure they would find true love again. They had already been friends so it wasn’t hard for them to see that they had the potential for more. Maybe it was the way that Jody’s playful banter makes Mandy’s smile light up a room. Maybe it was the way that their kids got along and longed to be siblings. Mandy had known Jody’s boys for years and had already fallen in love with them long ago. Regardless, when they fit so well with each other Jody knew he had finally found someone he could grow old with. He first asked Mandy’s two girls for permission to marry their mother. He even gave them their own rings. Mandy knew they had given him the go ahead, but he was still able to surprise her with a ring of her own one evening overlooking the twinkling lights of the Standing Stone bridge.

Normally one doesn’t go to a lot of fuss for a second marriage, but this was no ordinary second chance. Mandy’s two girls and Jody’s two boys insisted on a big celebration of them becoming one family. Jody and Mandy were not the only ones who were beyond excited to become a family. It was truly a picture-perfect day with warm weather and a hint of fall crispness in the air. The leaves were turning their gold, orange, and red vibrant colors all around their property. As the sun set over the mountain, Mandy crossed the yard on the arms of both her girls. They guided her to their waiting men – Jody decked out in his dress blues and his twin boys next to him. With their children by their sides, Jody and Mandy pledged their love and devotion in front of a crowd full of loving family and friends. Right after going back down the aisle you could tell the excitement and happiness of being a new family was high. Mandy’s girls yelled “I have a brother now!!” while giving them super bear hugs. You could also hear Mandy telling all her friends “We did it! I can’t believe he is actually officially mine now!!”

Jody and Mandy, it was a pleasure to watch your two sweet families become one. You both were so much fun to work with and I loved watching y’all tease each other all day. Your children are precious and I hope you have a lifetime of wonderful memories together!

I love the way Jody can always make Mandy laugh at a moments notice.

The ring Jody gave Mandy went so well with the heirloom necklace that Mandy's deceased father gave Mandy's sister at her wedding. All of the sisters have worn it at their weddings.
