Livingston, TN: The Clark House - Mark and Brittney
Three years ago Brittney was home from college visiting family when a girlfriend asked her to join her at a concert. Thinking it sounded like fun, Brittney agreed to go. Little did she know that decision would change her whole world. When she got there, her friend’s handsome cousin, Mark, caught her eye. They hit it off. So when her friend asked both of them to another concert later, it was an easy yes. After the second concert, Brittney moved back home. Several years of dating and a little boy later, on one fall day last September, Mark asked Brittney to go for a walk with him. While walking around their future home site with their little boy all of a sudden Mark stopped. There, with their baby boy watching, Mark surprised Brittney and asked her to marry him. When I say surprised I mean it since her first response was “Shut up! Are you serious?!” He was.
Leaves were just starting to turn yellow on their wedding day this October. They were dancing on the breezy day like they knew there was something to celebrate. Brittney arrived at The Clark House in a flurry of activity. The hum of happy voices surrounded her along with scent of fresh flowers. Fresh white, cream, and pink roses and hydrangeas grace surfaces everywhere. What just seemed like moments later, it was like a fairy godmother waved her wand and the fairy tale day commenced. The sky was brilliant blue with nary a cloud in the sky when Brittney walked down the aisle on the arms of her parents. Even their son Frazier seemed excited and tried to join them on stage while Mark and Brittney were exchanging their vows. They had chosen to proclaim their devotion to each other with no attendants other than Mark’s little girl Marley and Frazier and just very intimate family and friends in the audience. Mark had joked that they wanted the $1.99 package – short and sweet. The ceremony may have been short and it was certainly sweet, but it was still elegant even if simple. When you get down to it though, what more do you need than your beloved, those most dear to you, a preacher, two rings, a smoking hot dress, and some beautiful flowers? Everything else is icing on the cake.
There is something magical about witnessing two people becoming one, that I never tire of watching.I loved the fact of how much fun Mark and Brittney obviously have together, but still have respect for each other. (Like not smashing the whole piece of cake in her face like he really wanted to!) The one thing that stood out to me about them is how easily they laugh together. I have learned next to love that is a main staple to a lasting marriage.
Mark and Brittney, you rocked it guys! I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with y’all. Brittney, never stop smiling that beautiful, contagious smile. Mark, thanks for being so easy going. You have a gift for making people feel at ease. I wish you both the best and a lifetime of happiness and laughter!
